About Tiger Cubs  |  Tiger Achievement List

Tiger Cubs

In Tiger Cubs, boys have the opportunity to learn all about scouting without having to worry about the responsibility and self-motivation that the older boys have chosen to tackle.  Tiger Cubs is a chance for parents and boys to get their feet wet together in a fun and friendly environment, learning as much from each other as they do from their peers.  In Pack 171, we believe there is no substitute for the confidence and support our boys receive from their parents, especially when they are just starting out in Cub Scouts, and we encourage all of the new Tiger parents to join us in our efforts to provide the boys with a solid foundation from which to grow.

Tiger Achievement List

Every boy must earn his Tiger Cub belt totem before he begins his path towards the Tiger Cub rank.  The three requirements to earn the Tiger Cub belt totem are:

  1. Learn the Tiger Cub Motto (The MOTTO is: "SEARCH, DISCOVER, SHARE ")
  2. Learn the Cub Scout Sign
  3. Learn the Cub Scout Salute

When he has learned these three things, he is awarded the Tiger Cub belt totem at a pack meeting to wear on his belt. The front side of the totem has a large tiger paw print, and the other side includes a recessed space in which to place his Tiger Cub badge when he earns it. The lower end of the totem has holes to tie four strands for totem beads. A boy earns totem beads by working on the five Tiger Cub achievements.
